Privacy Policy

Travelshare is a travel calendar you share with friends. It is operated by the Travelshare team and available at travelshareapp.com and on the Apple App Store. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Questions go to support@travelshareapp.com.

• Account details. When you sign in with Google or create an account with email and password, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. Travelshare is invite only; we also record which member invited you.
• Trips. The destinations, dates, and notes you add, along with the visibility you choose for each trip.
• Travel documents. Files you choose to upload to a trip, such as flight confirmations, hotel bookings, visas, and tickets. Documents are private to you and are never shown to other users.
• Calendar events. Only if you connect your device or Google Calendar: event titles, dates, and locations are scanned to suggest trips. We do not store your calendar; we keep only the trips you confirm.
• Connections. The friends you add and the circles you organize them into.
• Usage data. Basic product events (for example, that a trip was created or a document uploaded) so we can understand which features matter. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell data.

• To run the service: show your trips to the friends you choose, find overlaps, and keep your travel documents in one place.
• To read the documents you upload with Google's Gemini AI and turn them into trip cards (flight times, hotel addresses, reservation details). This processing happens only on files you upload and calendars you connect.
• To suggest trips from calendar events you share with us.
• To show weather for your destinations and place addresses on a map, using coordinates for the cities in your trips.
• To operate the invite system and prevent abuse, including limits on uploads and AI processing.

Travelshare runs on Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions), with data stored on Google Cloud servers in the United States. Uploaded documents are stored in a private folder only your account can access, protected by security rules.

• Friends you approve see your name, photo, and the trips you make visible to them. They never see your documents.
• Service providers that process data on our behalf: Google Firebase (hosting, database, storage, sign-in), Google Gemini API (reading documents and calendar events you submit), Open-Meteo (weather for your destination cities), and OpenStreetMap Nominatim (turning hotel addresses into map pins).
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Content sent to the Gemini API is processed under Google Cloud's data terms and is not used to train Google's models.

• Delete any trip or document at any time from within the app; the underlying files are removed from storage.
• Disconnect your calendar at any time in settings; scanning stops immediately.
• Control who sees each trip: everyone on your friends list, specific circles, or only you.
• Delete your account and all associated data by using the delete option in the app or emailing support@travelshareapp.com; we complete deletion within 30 days.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask questions about this policy, at support@travelshareapp.com.

If you sign in with Google or connect Google Calendar, Travelshare's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Calendar access is read-only, used solely to suggest trips to you, never shown to other users, never used for advertising, and never transferred except as needed to provide the feature.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to your documents is restricted to your account by storage security rules. We keep your information while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account. Anonymized usage statistics may be kept longer.

Travelshare is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

If we make meaningful changes to this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
